Before going to bed last night, I've been thinking what to write here on my blog. Then all of sudden I had this urge to share to you readers to share products that I have been using regularly. Here it is..

For Hair

I use Loreal's Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner. Before, my hair was damaged due to frequent hair coloring. It was very dry and often times would fall off. Then a friend recommended to use Loreal's Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner. I've seen the ads and It got me curious. They say It's a good shampoo for those who regularly have their hair colored. I've been using it for 4 months now and my hair is not dry anymore. It became smooth and silky; and my hair color became more prominent.

After washing my hair, I let it dry for a bit then I apply a small amount of Vitress Hair Cuticle Coat for damaged hair. I only use Vitress on my hair to give it a glossy shine. Only apply a small amount in your hair, you don't want it to be greasy.

For Face

I use Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam in cleansing my face. Before, I used to have pimples even though I've been using a well-known brand who promises to have a pimple fighting effect. When I switched to Garnier, and I must say it does wonders! The zits started to lessen and disappear; and my skin became more clear and radiant. The price is affordable too. Only 7 pesos per sachet. I've been using it for 5 months now.

Another product of Garnier that I've been using is Garnier Light Complete Multi-action Whitening Cream. I use this instead of foundations and concealers. After cleansing my face with Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam, I dab a small amount of Garnier Light Complete Multi-action Whitening Cream all over my face and neck. Then I finished it off with a loose powder and lip&cheek tint. What I love about this product is it lightens my pimple marks and it gives me a matte finished look. My only problem is, after a few hours my skin becomes oily so I have to re-apply a small amount of loose powder or use an oil film. But nonetheless, my skin feels great when using this product.

Whenever I have breakouts, I use Eskinol Classic Whitening Facial Cleanser and I incorporate 2 Clindamycin Capsules in it. Clindamycin is known to be an oral or a topical treatment for acne. It helps dries pimple and prevent further breakouts. But before using it, make sure to consult your doctor first.

At night before going to bed, I wash my face with Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam and apply a small amount of Myra E Facial Moisturizer. It has Vitamin E which is an anti-oxidant. It moisturizes the skin than can give a 'blooming' and 'glowing' effect. I also take a Myra E 400 capsule before going to bed.

For Body

Perla is a laundry soap but some people have used them as a bath soap. I am one of them. I have been using it for almost a year now. They said that it can whiten the skin. It got me curious so I tried it. My skin is already fair so I wouldn't really see much difference. What I like about this soap is the feeling after taking a bath. You could feel that your skin is really clean but the only problem is it can make your skin dry.

So after washing my body, I use Olay Natural White Soap or Belo Essentials Soap to prevent dryness. Yup, I bathe twice in every bath :) a bit of a hassle right? But its worth it. Not only that it has a whitening effect, It moisturizes your skin and makes your skin much softer and radiant.

For the lotion, I just recently started using the Nivea Extra Whitening Inner Cell Repair Body Milk Lotion. I will keep you posted on that.

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes has always been my comfort food but the only time I got a chance to eat them is whenever I'm eating at KFC. So, just out of the blue I wanted to make my own mashed potatoes. :)

MASHED POTATOES

For the mashed potatoes

350 grams potatoes, peeled and diced
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
salt and pepper to taste

For the gravy

2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon flour
2 cups beef or chicken stock, warmed
salt and pepper

For the mashed potatoes

Placed potatoes in medium saucepan and cover with water. Cover the lid and bring to a boil. Reduced to a simmer and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
Combine milk and butter. Heat in the microwave until warmed.
Drain potatoes and return to the saucepan. Mash potatoes and the milk mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Let it cool, then refrigerate until ready to use.

For the gravy

Melt butter in pan. Add flour; combine. Cook for about 2 minutes.
Slowly pour in warm beef or chicken stock.

(Note: I used Knorr cubes for the stock. I boiled 6 cups of water for 1 knorr cube. So if you're going to use all the stock, you've got to triple the flour and butter. You can use chicken or beef.)

3. Season it with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Pulvoron ala Goldilocks

I've been craving for polvoron so I decided to make my own. Here's the recipe..

SPECIAL PULVORON

Ingredients:

4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 cups powdered milk
2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter (melted)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Toast flour in moderate heat for 15 minutes or until light brown, stirring constantly.
Then add powdered milk, toss for another 5 minutes. Then let it cool.
Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Pack well in pulvoron molder and wrap in tissue or Japanese paper.

I must say.. They taste like Goldilocks! Message me for feedbacks :)

Hiyiee! I've been busy lately so I haven't posted anything for the past 4months or so.. I'm currently under the a 4months Post-graduate course of a well-known Hospital here in the Philippines. Haven't got the time to write anything here.. but i promise that I'll write some of my experience there.. soon). My mama just finished her treatment (yehey!) last June 19, 2011.

In behalf of my Mama and our whole family.. I would like to thank our friends and relatives for all of the support and prayers; My mama's colleagues, for all the help that they have given us; and of course.. Thank you Lord! for guiding us and making us more tighter than ever.

Last June 29, 2011; I just turned 22 years-old. ohmy! I feel so old already.. :( How did I celebrated my birthaday? I was on duty at that time so I only got to celebrate when I got home.. I had a small celebration with my family.. Mama turned 55 years old on July 9, 2011. We had to celebrate her birthday in the hospital. She was confined for 7 days due to complications of her radiation treatment. It was tough but thank God we were able to surpass the challenges given to us.

A lot has happened to me lately.. a lot of heartbreaks (I won't elaborate on it.. he might be reading this..) good thing i've been really busy lately.. so i've haven't got the time to be emotional/depressed. lol. :)

A cancer patient only has one wish, to kick cancer's ass. I know that 97% of you won't post this as your status, but my friends will be the 3% that do. In honor of someone who died, or is fighting cancer, or even had cancer, post this for at least one hour.

This is for my Mom who is currently fighting cancer. We LOVE you MAMA!

Well, today is April 09, 2011. Its our Monthsarry. For those who does not know what a monthsarry is, here's a short explanation. Monthsarry: It's when couples celebrates their special day, every month. Its a Monthly version of Anniversarry (month + anniversarry = Monthsarry). As I said earlier, today is our monthsarry. It's supposed to be our 30th month together but we broke up 5months ago and we only got back together 2weeks ago. So I really don't know what month we're celebrating.. And I don't know when we'll be celebrating our Anniversarry. I'm also a bit sad that he doesn't greet me on facebook.. Well, he never did but I know that He knows that I want him to greet me on Facebook.. like I always greets him before . But now, I've stopped 'cause I don't want to feel that I'm the only one who cares for our relationship. Haiz.. I don't know what to do. If I told him this, he'd say i'm acting like a kid again. (well, I still am..) I only want a happy relationship.

Part One. Denial and Acceptance

Hmmm.. What should I write about? I've been staring at the monitor for almost 5mins now and still don't have anything to write.. Oh! I got it. I said in my previous post that i'll write about what happened to my Mama.. So here it goes..

For more than 6months now.. My mother has been fighting cancer. Yes, you heard me right. Its Cancer. It started around the end of August 2010. She had vaginal spotting which later lead to profuse bleeding. I could still remember how it transpired. It was a Monday morning. My Kuya woke me up and told me that Mama was on the phone and wanted to talk to me. I remember that I was still half-asleep when I talked to her. Then Mama said that she was bleeding, really bad. I suddenly felt adrenaline rushing through my veins & feels like I just finished working out. I was that hyper. After that phone call, I immediately told my Kuya what happened. It went by so fast that I forgot to eat breakfast. I got my mom's clothes had a bath then off to her office (my Mama works in a Hospital). When I got there, Mama's officemates we're there. I gave mama her clothes for her to changed. While I was waiting, I chatted with mama's officemates. They told me what happened and how it happened. After that, we had a quick lunch and went straight to the hospital beside the hospital she's working in. She had an Trans-vaginal Ultrasound that afternoon which was ordered by her OB doctor. The next day, mama decided to change doctors. I must say it was a good thing she did. We rushed to the hospital to get her ultrasound result then to the her new doctor's clinic. Thankfully we made it in time. Her new doctor gave her a medicine to stop the bleeding. She'll have to drink it for a month.

Then after a month, It was the end of September. Mama was still bleeding. The drug wasn't able to stop the bleeding. We went back to the doctor for a follow-up checkup, she ordered mama to have a trans-vaginal ultrasound with contrast done by her the following day. I wasn't able to accompany mama. After that, the doctor decided that mama should undergo a minor procedure, D&C or Dilatation and Curettage. The doctor saw a hazy part in the ultrasound and cannot determine what it is. Mama was scheduled for D&C last October 5, 2010. Waiting for the result was antagonizing... The following week, It was a Monday. Mama got the result and went to the doctor's clinic with kuya... Then I received a text message from mama.. It was about the result. Mama said she already got the result. "Anak nakuha ko na result. Endometrial endometriod Adenocarcinoma ang result. Ayusin mo na gamit ko. bka admit na ako" At that point, It felt like my world came crashing down. I started crying. I can't believe what just happened. I received another text msg from mama and said not to tell papa the result. It was hard. Papa was also inside the house. Imagine me acting nothing is wrong in front of him then when I go to the next room, I'd be crying like a baby. It was very painful. After lunch, mama called and told me she's scheduled for TAHBSO on the 15th of October. I was trying so hard not to cry.. before we said goodbye. I said, "I love you Mama.. love you mama" and I started to cry and so did her.. I could remember mama saying, "I love you too, Anak... Kaya ko ito." which made us both cry more.. That was the only time I cried in front of my mama. After that phone call, I started crying again.. I finally told my sister what happened. That afternoon, I received phone calls from my titas. Throughout the calls, I was hysterically crying. They we're calming me down and telling me what to do and what not. I could all hear them crying.. When kuya got home.. He was telling me not to cry and everything will be alright. Its hard not to cry.. Its mama eh. When mama got home.. Papa was downstairs and she told her at that instant.. The mood in the house was very depressing.. I could tell papa was shocked.. He wasn't talking as much at all.. I could hear mama crying every time relatives calls. It also made me cry.. In 4days, she'll undergo a major surgery. Mama was admitted a day before the surgery. For her stay in the hospital. I was the one watching her..

On the day of the surgery, mama was on NPO for more than 10hours or so.. The surgery almost didn't push through due to some reasons but thank God it did. Both kuya and I waited in the room. Oh, I forgot to tell that kuya and mama both worked at the same hospital. My brother is a staff nurse there. The surgery ended around 11:30pm. Kuya's colleagues lets us stay inside the recovery room to be with mama. I didn't got much sleep there.. it was freezing inside the room. The next day, kuya was on morning shift so I was left there to watch mama.. around 10am Ate got to the hospital, so I got the chance to go back to our room and took a nap. Mama was transferred to our room around 12nn. We stayed in the Hospital for 5 more days before mom was discharged..

It's been awhile.. Haven't posted anything since October. Ohwell, A lot has happened lately.. Stuff that we didn't expect to happen at all. First, my mom got sick.. I'll discuss more of it in my next post. Next, I'm still an unemployed nurse.. but it's all good 'coz I've been taking care of my mother since she got sick. And I like taking care of her.. beacause I love my Mama :) Lastly, I've been Single for more than 4months now.. I know.. How sad right? We broke up a few weeks after our 2nd year anniversary. We're friends tho.

P.S. There are still unpublished post here on my blogger. Will try finishing it in the coming days. :)

It is spread by Aedes eagypti mosquito
it is manifested by a sudden onset of fever, with severe headache, muscle and joint and rashes
it is most common in tropical countries and Africa
it occurs in over 100 countries, with more than 2.5 billion people at risk and an estimated 50 million infection per year

2 types of dengue:

1. Dengue fever

is more severe in adults in which incapacitating muscle, joint and bone pain ("break-bone fever') are common.
is known as a non-fatal or rarely fatal disease

2. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever

occurs mostly in children under the age of 16 year
is characterized by signature features of thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) and vascular leakage
is associated with mortality because of its tendency to develop into a fatal shock (Dengue Shock Syndrome; sever form of DHF)

(DSS- is defined as DHF with weak rapid pulse, cold clammy skin, and restlessness)

Pathophysiology

Incubation period:

Diagnosis

Tourniquet Test

Inflate the BP cuff to a point midway between the systolic and diastolic pressure for 5 mins
Release the cuff and make an imaginary 2.5 cm or 1 inch square just below the cuff, at the antecubital fossa

Count the number if petechiea insde the box, a test is (+) when 20 or more petechiae are observed

Complete Blood Count (CBC)

o Platelet count is below 150,000 and 450,000 per mm³

Signs and Symptoms

First 4 days,

Febrile or high fever
Abdominal pain and headache
Flushing that maybe accompanied by vomiting , conjuctival infection and epistaxis

4^th – 7^th days (toxic or hemorrhagic stage)

Lowering of temperature
Severe abdominal pain
Vomiting and frequent bleeding from GI tract (hematemesis or melena)
Unstable BP
Narrow pulse pressure and shock
Tourniquet test which is (+) on the 3^rd day may become (-) due to low platet count
Death may occur

7^th – 10^th days,

Recovery stage

Classification

Severe,

With flushing, sudden high fever, severe hemorrhage, sudden drop of temperature, shock and terminating in recovery or death

Moderate

High fever, but less hemmorhage, no shock

Mild,

Slight fever, w/ or w/o hemmorhage

Treatment

Supportive and symptomatic treatment should be provided

For fever, give paracetamol for muscle pains
For headache, give analgesic. DON’t give ASPIRIN (anticoagulant)
Increase oral fluid intake to prevent dehydration
Give ORESOL to replace fluid as in moderate dehydration

Nursing Mgt

For hemorrhage,

Keep patient in Complete Bed Rest (CBR)
For Epistaxis, place patient in High Fowlers position and place ice bag over the head
For Melena (GI bleeding), place ice bag over the abdomen
Instruct the patient to avoid unnecessary movements
If transfusion is given, support the patient during therapy
Observe signs of deterioration that can lead to DSS

For Shock,

Prevention is the best treatment
Place the patient in a Dorsal Recumbent Position to facilitate circulation
Adequate preparation of the patient, mentally and physically prevents the occurrence of shock
Provide heat through lightweight covers.

Diet,

Low fat, low fiber, non-irritating, non-carbonated.
Noodle soup may be given.

Fast facts about the mosquito

Aedes Eagypti Mosquito

Only the female aedes mosquito bites as it needs the protein in blood to develop its eggs.
The mosquito becomes infective approximately 7 days after it has bitten a person carrying the virus. This is the extrinsic incubation period, during which time the virus replicates in the mosquito and reaches the salivary glands.
Peak biting is at dawn and dusk.
The average lifespan of an Aedes mosquito in Nature is 2 weeks
The mosquito can lay eggs about 3 times in its lifetime, and about 100 eggs are produced each time.
The eggs can lie dormant in dry conditions for up to about 9 months, after which they can hatch if exposed to favourable conditions, i.e. water and food

The Miniature Pinscher is a small breed of dog that started in Germany. They are called Min Pin, Zwergpinscher and also called as the "King of the Toy Dogs". They are cross between a Dachshund and an Italian greyhound. Their average life span is 14-17 years. They usually weigh around 8-11 pounds. Mini Pinscher tends to have long legs, and a small body. It stands 10 to 12.5 inches in height at the shoulders. Their coat is short and smooth with different colors. Here are the American Kennel Club accepted colors:

Solid Clear Red: this is the most common color, varying from a dark rusty red to a color that is almost tan. Color should be rich and vibrant. A medium to dark shade is preferred.

Stag Red: Red with intermingling of black hairs. Color should be rich and vibrant. A medium to dark shade is preferred.

Black and Tan: Black with sharply defined rust-red markings on cheeks, lips, lower jaw, throat, twin spots above eyes and chest, lower half of forelegs, inside of hind legs and vent region, lower portion of hocks and feet. Black pencil stripes on toes.

Chocolate and Tan: Chocolate with rust-red markings the same as specified for blacks, except brown pencil stripes on toes.

Mini Pinsher tends to over eat and should have their diets monitored to prevent obesity. They are also very curious and investigate a lot. They like toys especially toys that make interesting noises. Miniature Pinschers enjoy having a collection of such toys, which they will hoard and spend much time in moving from one collecting place to another. However, Miniature Pinschers will chew and inevitably try to eat their toys, so avoid toys made of rubber or plastic, as they could pose a choking hazard. Mini Pinschers are known to be territorial so they need their own place where they could sleep and rest. They love to sleep on soft objects, as well as under a soft blanket. They like jumping into beds and crawling under the blankets at night.. just like bambi :)

New Bicho-bicho recipe

Found a new bicho-bicho recipe yesterday. I got it from Masarap na Lutuing Piipino (katutubo at makabago) ni Aling Charing. It is written in 'malamin na tagalog', so I was having trouble understanding it. I noticed that there's no yeast included in this recipe compared to the previous Bicho-bicho recipe that I posted before (we're back on track)

note: I'm too lazy to translate it to english.

BITSU-BITSU

2 cups of flour/arina
3 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs/itlog
1/4 cup of melted butter/mantikilya
1/3 cup of milk/gatas
6 tablespoon of sugar/asukal
1/2 teaspoon of salt/asin

Ihalo sa arina ang asukal at baking powder. Salain (sift). Isahod sa malaking tasa.
Batihin ang itlog. Ihalo ang gatas at tunaw na mantikilya. Pamuling batihin.

Unti-unting ibuhos sa arina, habang mahinay na hinahalo, ang pinaghalong gatas at itlog. Masahin at ilatag sa malapad na sangkalan o sa mesa na binudburan ng kaunting arina. Pagulungan ng rolling pin o bote na may bilog na katawan, hanggang sa maging 1/2 na pulgada ang kapal ng masa. Hiwa-hiwain nang pahaba (1/2 na pulgada ang lapad at 6 pulgada ang haba). Pagdikitin ang bawa't dalawang putol, at bago ihulog sa kumukulong mantika ay diinan ng makitid ng patpat ang bawat putol na magkadikit.

Kailangan ay maraming mantika ang paglulutuan ng bitsu Hanguin kapag umalsa at naging mamula-mula. Patuluin ang mantika bago paguungin sa asukal.

YES! Only a month left and it's our 2nd year anniversary! iloveyou baby! :)

It's our 23rd Month together. He visited me and we spent the whole afternoon together. We went to Cartimar and looked at animals.. you name it, they have it! there's dogs, cats, fish, rats, birds.. Everything! We looked for Flowerhorn fish but end up buying fish food and worms for Albert's flowerhorn.. I was planning to buy my own Flowerhorn but my papa won't let me and I don't where to put it.. But I really want to own one. Anyways.. We both had a great time! We parted ways around 8:30-ish.. when I saw him crossing the streets.. I missed him already. When we're together, 24 hours in a day isn't enough for us.. If only we could be together everyday.. Thank you baby! Happy 23rd Monthsarry! I love you and I miss you so much..<3

we're back on track!

Yes, we are officially together. Actually, we've been together for some time now.. since last August 6, 2010. We just made it official on Facebook today, September 3, 2010. Anyways, I gave this to him on the same day we got back together. I hand-sewed this for him.. It took me almost a month to finished this because I got lazy so I had to finish this in 2days before I gave him this..

It'll be our 2nd anniversarry on October 9, 2010. :)

At the moment, I'm craving for bicho-bicho.. I've been wanting to eat it since last week when I visited my boyfriend in Bulacan. I've been thinking if I should learn how to make one so I could surprise my boyfriend so I found a recipe here on the Internet:

Bicho-bicho
1. Put in a mixing bowl:

1 C lukewarm water

1 T active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

2 C bread flour

2. Beat thoroughly. Cover and let rise for ½ hour. Add:
¼ C melted butter or grape seed oil
1 C light brown sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1½ C bread flour

3. Beat well. Cover and let rise again until dough is light, about 1 hour. Punch down.

4. Add more flour if dough is too soft to handle. Turn out into a well-floured surface. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Cover each and let rest for 10 minutes.

5. Roll dough to ½-inch thickness and cut into 6 x 1-inch strips. Set on baking sheets, cover and let rise for 1 hour.

6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown, roll in granulated sugar. Enjoy!

oh gawd.. i forgot about this blog (again!). anyways.. i changed the layout. just like my tumblr layout (well almost). what have i been up to lately? hmm.. i am now a newly registered nurse. well, an unemployed nurse. im currently a bum (haha!). its freaking hard to get a job here in the Philippines. even volunteer work is hard to get. you even need to pay the hospital monthly just to be able to do volunteer work... moving forward.. im still in a relationship with my boyfriend of 16months. even though we always argue.. i fall for him even more each and everyday. you'll read more of him in my future post :)

I'm a sucker for wonderbang fanfics especially starred by HeeDragon / Sohee and Kwonjiyong fics.

i've decided to write one. well of course its a HeeDragon fic but.. i've only written the prologue and half

of chapter one. maybe i'll post it here or in winglin or soompi

3. GUITAR HERO!!!!!!!!!!

LOL.. i didn't mean the game itself.haha. moving on.. i've been playing guitar for almost a decade now

and i've been wanting to increase my guitar skills
